Vision For Ministry


This year we are engaging in a strategic planning process, to develop the vision of Yardley United Methodist Church for the next five years. A significant part of this process is reflecting on how we have embodied our current Mission and Vision Statements, and deciding "where we want to go from here."

Please take a moment to reflect on our Current Mission and Vision, and offer your input.


Current Mission Statement:

Yardley United Methodist Church is a caring community of faith growing disciples for Jesus Christ through worship, education, and service. We will challenge each other, our children, and our community to live, to understand, and to share God’s Word.


Current Vision Statement:


Yardley United Methodist Church will grow disciples through worship:
  • We will provide a variety of worship experiences and styles. We are committed to music as a vital component of worship.
  • We will encourage our children to attend and participate in corporate worship. We are committed to providing a vital children’s music ministry.
  • We will be an invitational and welcoming congregation, accepting of the diversity that exists in our community and in the world.

Yardley United Methodist Church will grow disciples through education:
  • We will increase our understanding of God through Jesus Christ by providing educational opportunities to people of every age.
  • We will provide small group and continuing education experiences for adults.
  • We will develop learning experiences for children from infancy to young adulthood.
  • We will provide Christian education opportunities for the people of our local community.

Yardley United Methodist Church will grow disciples through service:
  • We will actively love and nurture our church family through ministries of lay caring, hospitality, and fellowship.
  • We will identify and respond to the needs of children, locally and globally.
  • We will respond creatively to the physical and spiritual needs in our community and throughout the world by our mission activities and mission support.
